YOU HAVE CHOSEN THE

MIS Banking Configurator

The MIS (Magnetic Image Sensor) uses TMR, Tunnel Magneto Resistance, elements to detect changes in the magnetic field on the scanned document.

It allows you to acquire a magnetic image useful for reading magnetic inks, magnetic characters and security threads/lines on banknotes, checks and other security documents.

    Applicazion Fields

Select the main application and indicate the type of machine or system where the MIS module will be integrated.

This choice helps us define the most suitable requirements for scanning width, resolution, light source, interface, and mechanical constraints.

If you are unsure, select 'Other'.

    Document type to be scanned

Indicate the type of document or physical substrate that will pass in front of the MIS. The document's characteristics influence the sensor selection.
This information is used to verify whether a standard configuration is sufficient or if a custom solution is required.

    Magnetic target to be detected

Indicate which magnetic information must be acquired or verified by the MIS.

The MIS detects magnetic field variations generated by magnetic inks, magnetic patterns, magnetic characters, or security lines on the document. This information is necessary to evaluate the most suitable resolution, scanning width, the number of elements/pixels, and the required signal output type.

    MIS effective scanning length

The scanning length indicates the effective area covered by the magnetic sensor in a single line.

Standard MIS formats are linked to the selected resolution: some combinations are already available, while others must be verified with the factory.

    OR

    DPI (Dots Per Inch) Resolution

The DPI resolution defines the magnetic sampling density of the MIS—the nominal number of points/pixels acquired per inch along the scanning width.

A higher resolution increases the detail of the magnetic image, allowing for more precise reading of magnetic patterns, characters, and security lines. At the same time, given the same electronics and line speed, a higher resolution generates more data to be acquired and processed.

    Data Output

Data Output defines the format of the signal output from the MIS.

Analog Output provides a serial analog signal to be acquired via the host electronics.

SPI Output provides an 8-bit digital/serial output, which is easier to integrate when the customer's system already manages SPI communication.
